this is just one of many stories of a particular adventure i had, and one that i have thought of many times over the years.
i?ve been on a lot of road trips, mostly in the us.
i have always come across friendly folk, and this is a particularly heart-warming experience that i wanted to share with y?all tonight.

You left out the part of the story where you found out Mr. and Mrs. Terri were really Brother and Sister Terri . . . because of course - only JWs are capable of showing true love and hospitality. Certainly this didn't come from anyone in the world, right?

If it is wrong to accept the four major components, then how can they say it's up to your conscience to accept a part/fraction of one of the four major components.
I seem to remember being taught that just because something is small and seems insignificant, if it is a part of something that is wrong . . . our "christian conscience" would want no part of it! For example: a "christian" wouldn't work in a grocery store that sold cigarettes; or we wouldn't want to work for a government agency that made weapons; or we wouldn't want to accept other work in lieu of fighting in a war because it is, however seemingly unrelated, still supporting the war.
I can't believe their reasoning and how they just write the rules to support their stories. The sad part is so many people have suffered and died from this insanity!

If the only acceptable use for "whole" blood was to offer it as a sacrifice, then accepting fractions violates this "law" because to break the blood down into fractions requires the handling the blood in ways that are "unacceptable" to begin with:

i'll tell you what niggles me and makes me cringe at the same time, its sitting in a boring lecture at work on a managers "away day" and having someone keep using those same tired dick-head phrases that i hate.. eg:.
"lets think outside the box".
"lets all network in groups".

this past monday, april 19, we had dexter put to sleep.
he was almost 13 years old and we got him when he was 11 weeks old, a tiny bouncy puppy with ears that he tripped over for months.
he was ever cheerful, a part of the family, loved the children and let them pull on his tail and ears and pull up on his back with no grumbles, and a very dear friend.
Oh Nina, I am so sorry to hear of your tremendous loss! Dexter sounds like a wonderful spirit that you were lucky to have in your lives, as he was lucky to have you in his life.
I know a bit of what you are going through. One of the hardest times of my life was when my childhood cat needed to be put to sleep. At that time, he had been with me for almost my entire life - we got him when I was 5, and I was in my early 20's when he died. He was an important member of my family that is sorely missed!
Time will help. The memorial you and your children made with Dexter's paw print sounds very touching.
Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family.

two nice jw ladies stopped by my house last week and gave me some magazines.
one of them asked if i would mind if she returned to discuss the magazines and answer any questions i might have.
i think i'd like to attempt some counter-witnessing.
LOL. You know, I'm not sure. It's been quite a while! I think we only left older issues if we ran out of the current mags. . . and we wouldn't ask for a "contribution" for the older issues. Can someone help me out with this one? I really can't remember!

this past week i met an old friend for coffee - she's a x-jw also but still in the trap of thinking they are the "truth" - in fact, she's trying to get reinstated, but that's another topic i'll leave for another time.. as we were having coffee 2 car groups of jw's came in for their service break.
her reaction was obvious to me that she felt uncomfortable with them there.
as i was noticing her reaction i thought of the stages i have gone through since i was df'd.. at first i was embarassed and ashamed when i would run into jw's somewhere.
Dawn, your post made me smile.
I too felt that sense of inner peace when I attended my 2nd memorial after leaving the organization (it is the only thing I do still related to the JWs - and I do it to keep my mom happy). Anyway, I had been out for a little over a year. Immediately after I stopped going to meetings, I was always looking over my shoulder at the mall, or elsewhere, afraid to run into a JW. I had this sense of guilt - a false sense of guilt, but it was there none the less. I felt like I was a JW who wasn't doing what she was supposed to be doing . . . hence the guilt. Anyway, when I attended that memorial, I felt liberated in a sense. I realized that I didn't feel like a JW who wasn't doing what she was supposed to be doing, but instead I felt like a visitor at the KH. I didn't owe anything to anyone . . .it was just me. I wasn't ashamed and I didn't try to avoid anyone. The memorial this month was my 3rd and the feeling was even better. No feelings of guilt what-so-ever. In fact, I can agree with the feelings of pity and empathy for the JWs.
